		<title>Parents as Cyberbullies</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A disturbing article  <a href="http://www.news.com/8301-13860_3-9819394-56.html?part=rss&amp;subj=news&amp;tag" target="_blank">here</a>  led me to another, longer article <a href="http://stcharlesjournal.stltoday.com/articles/2007/11/10/news/sj2tn20071110-1111stc_pokin_1.ii1.txt" target="_blank">here</a>, regarding parents in Missouri who went too far.  My Computer Tech classes need to read both articles and then comment on a Quia <a href="http://www.quia.com/sv/148851.html" target="_blank">survey </a>to complete the assignment.</p>
<p>The gist of the article is that a young 13 year old girl meets someone she thinks is a local boy, on MySpace.  Her parents keep an eye on the communications but after some time, he breaks off the relationship, posts mean/nasty things about her and she&#8217;s devastated.  She then commits suicide.</p>
<p>And as crazy as it seems, the &#8220;boy&#8221; was created by the parents of another girl, who used to be friends with the 13 year old.  Apparently they thought it was a good idea, a way to support their daughter.</p>
